Searching should be intuitive to experienced web-weenies. Many search engines scan this site, including the most major ones, such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
There is a direct link to Google on each page of the archive, and it preconditions the search to the
fpga-faq archive. Just type the keywords and click search.
As the site is updated with a new batch of articles at the beginning of each month, the search may not be too precise for really recent articles.
When you do a search, you may get hits on the Author lists, as well as the archived articles. The articles are batched up in sets of 25 articles per page. If you follow the link, you may need to use your browser's text search (ctrl-f) to find the search text in the page, or maybe you can just scan the article titles looking for something that seems appropriate.
Once you get to an article, you will probably want to navigate around. Here's how:
Each article in the archive has a header that looks like:
Subject: Re: How to specify Spartan2 GSR/GTS for Synthesis
From: Philip Freidin <email@example.com>
Date: Thu, 12 Apr 2001 01:48:08 -0700
Links: << >> << T >> << A >>
The Navigation is all on the line that starts Links: There are 8 navigation links on this line.<< >> These first two links take you forward or backward in the archive in articleSometimes these links will be gray, indicating that the link is not available. For example, the
number sequence. "<<" for back, ">>" for forward
<< T >> These 3 links take you forward or backward in article Thread sequence, or
the "T" will take you to the thread index page for this article
<< A >> These 3 links take you forward or backward in Author article sequence, or
the "A" will take you to the Author index page for this article
first link, "<<" will be gray on the first article of the archive. The ">>" after the "T" will be
gray if the current article is the last article of this thread.
